Since founding an IT Security consultancy in Spain in 2000, Ismael Valenzuela has been spearheading cyber security projects internationally. Currently Technical Practice Manager at Intel Security (Foundstone Professional Services), he leads the delivery of Security Operations Center (SOC), Cyber Incident Response, Digital Forensics and Threat Research services for public and private corporations. Previously, Ismael was Global IT Security Manager for iSOFT Group, a provider of healthcare IT solutions. Author and contributor of technical articles for Hakin9, INSECURE Magazine, the Internet Storm Center and the SANS Forensics Blog, Ismael is also a regular speaker at International conferences, serves on the GIAC Advisory Board and is a SANS Instructor for the Digital Forensics and Cyberdefense tracks. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Malaga (Spain), is certified in Business Administration, and holds many professional certifications including the highly regarded GIAC Security Expert (GSE #132) in addition to GREM, GCFA, GCIA, GCIH, GPEN, GCUX, GCWN, GWAPT, GSNA, GMON, CISSP, ITIL, CISM and IRCA 27001 Lead Auditor from Bureau Veritas UK.
