Peter Arzamendi is a Research Scientist with Optiv's Applied Research practice. Peter has expertise in hardware and software security. Areas of particular interest include vulnerability discovery, static and dynamic analysis of binaries, exploitation techniques, hardware reverse engineering, malware analysis, protocol analysis and more. Peter has over 11 years of experience in systems administration, computer engineering, and information systems security. Peter has performed forensic investigations, network, application, and device assessment for both local and state governments as well as the private sector. Peter is active in the InfoSec community and has presented on security topics at Shmoocon, Hack in Paris and local venues. Peter has contributed to several open source projects such as Metasploit and Fgdump. Peter's hobbies include malware analysis, exploit research, and IoT hacking.
