No Pets Allowed - Mastering the Basics of Cloud Infrastructure

Thursday, April 27, 2023

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM PDT

60 minutes, including Q&A

Many of our customers are still struggling to adopt some of the most basic and foundational cloud native skills. Many display an on-prem bias in terms of execution which has constrained the transformation and modernization promised by the cloud. This session will take it back to the basics by emphasizing the promise of elasticity, reliability, and scalability of the cloud due to the emergence of ephemeral resources that can be deployed. We refer to this mindset as one of pets versus cattle. In this talk, we will highlight what should be cattle and what clearly are pet-like characteristics and behaviors that our customers are bringing to the cloud.
