All of these files are archived and compressed using the GNU tools
    tar and gzip.  To extract them, simply:

                gunzip -c filename.tgz | tar xvf -

    It is recommended that these files are extracted on a Unix machine
    otherwise the filenames will be truncated to the DOS 8.3 convention.


    All of these programs must run under Unix, and many of them, only
    under Linux.
