Hacking by Numbers: Chief of Staff

SensePost

What to bring:
Just Yourself.

All necessary equipment will be provided, including pre-configured laptops, tools and utilities.

Overview:
Chief of Staff is a brand new concept: A security course aimed at technical and business leaders. The latest offering in SensePost’s acclaimed ‘Hacking By Numbers’, series this course brings IT and IT Security managers real technical information in a language they can relate to. No technical jargon, no acronyms or techno-speak, just good, solid information presented in a way that managers can apply to make better decisions. This course is designed to empower managers by cutting through the technical barriers and presenting them with useful facts and decision-making skills.

Prerequisites
SensePost will provide fully configured laptop computers as well as CDs with all the tools and materials used in the course. Students need to ensure they have the necessary level of skill. This course touches on various different programming languages on different platforms and, as such, requires attendees to have some basic programming experience. However, it is thinking-oriented, not really coding-oriented, and would thus be accessible to even the most novice programmer. A solid practical grasp of fundamental penetration testing tools and techniques is also expected. Students without the requisite technical skills are encouraged to consider ‘Cadet Edition’ or ‘Bootcamp Edition’ first.

Context
This course can be done independently of all the other SensePost courses provided that the skills prerequisites are all met.

Who should attend
This course offers a fresh perspective from which anyone involved in information security will benefit. Clearly, the target audience is the risk manager, the IT manager, the CIO or the CSO of a corporation. However, senior technical professionals, consultant, IT auditors and other enthusiasts will also find the course interesting and informative. This course has no prerequisites.

Free additional tools workshop:
After the first day of the course SensePost offers a free additional workshop on using their suite of hacking tools, including Wikto, Aura, Suru, Crowbar, BidiBLAH and others, copies of which will be distributed to all students. The tools workshop is open to all attendees of any SensePost course and run in the evening after training on Saturday 28 and Monday 30 July. Precise times and locations will be announced during the training courses.
